When cut-to-size may be the simpler route

If the requirement is for individually handled pieces, tell DSP how the stickers or labels will be used and supplied to the people applying or distributing them.

This guide does not prescribe cut-to-size as universally preferable for any fixed quantity or application. The decision depends on the real workflow and production specification.

When roll/reel supply needs to be discussed

If the labels need to be supplied on rolls/reels—especially where repeated or equipment-assisted application is involved—identify that requirement early.

If an applicator or downstream process matters, provide the exact technical requirements available from that equipment/process. Core size, winding/unwind direction and compatibility must be confirmed against DSP's actual production capability before they are promised.

This guide therefore does not publish one standard DSP core size, winding direction or machine-compatibility claim.

What to send when you are not sure

You can ask DSP to help determine the supply route by sending:

  • application method: manual / equipment-assisted / not sure;
  • quantity;
  • dimensions;
  • application or container/surface;
  • artwork status;
  • material/finish if known;
  • target date;
  • any applicator specification or supplier sheet if equipment is involved.

If you do not know the technical roll requirements, say so rather than guessing.

Cost and productivity should not be assumed

Roll supply may change how a particular workflow is handled, but this page does not claim that rolls are universally cheaper, faster or more productive than cut-to-size.

Any commercial or operational comparison should be based on the actual quantity, specification, supply method and application process.

DSP does not publish a universal MOQ, price advantage or productivity figure for either format here.

Proof boundary

PARTIAL SUPPORTING PROOF / NO DIRECT SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON

They do not prove a universal roll-vs-cut cost, productivity or applicator-compatibility result.
