1. Start with the finished shape

Ask what the individual sticker should look like when it is separated from the surrounding material.

Useful references can include:

  • the final artwork itself;
  • a simple outline/reference image;
  • a logo or graphic that should determine the shape;
  • a known geometric shape;
  • a sample of the intended finished result.

The important point is to communicate the intended finished outline clearly enough for the actual production requirement to be assessed.

2. Give the finished size, not only the artwork canvas

Provide the approximate finished width and height of the sticker.

If several sizes are needed, list them separately. If the size is not final, explain where the sticker will be used and what physical space it needs to fit.

This page does not publish universal minimum or maximum die-cut dimensions because practical limits can depend on the real artwork, selected production route and order specification.

3. Artwork readiness changes the next step

There are three useful states:

Artwork ready

Send the file with the intended finished size and shape requirement.

Artwork exists but the cut shape is not prepared

Send the artwork and explain how you expect the finished sticker to be shaped. DSP can assess what artwork preparation is required.

Design is not ready

Explain the intended use, shape idea, dimensions and content. Dubai Sticker Printing can support design/artwork preparation, revisions or redesigning where required before production.

No fixed cut-path tolerance, minimum detail size or machine capability should be inferred from this guide.

4. Include the application

The intended use helps prevent the shape discussion from becoming disconnected from the real sticker job.

Share:

  • where the sticker will be applied;
  • whether the surface/product/container is already known;
  • whether the sticker is primarily decorative, informational, promotional or another use;
  • any important handling or performance requirement that has already been defined.

If material or finish is unknown, it is better to say “not sure / help me choose” than to select a specification only because it appeared in an online example.

5. Quantity and supply requirement still matter

Include the required quantity and explain if the order contains:

  • one repeated design;
  • multiple designs;
  • multiple sizes;
  • multiple shape variants.

If sheet, roll or another supply format matters to your workflow, include that requirement. The broader Roll vs Cut-to-Size Guide can help when supply format—not custom shape—is the main decision.

6. Die-cut is the shape task; the service page owns the quote

This support guide helps prepare the custom-shape requirement.

For production/specification guidance and a contextual quote, continue to the dedicated Die-Cut & Custom-Shape Stickers service:

Die-Cut / Custom-Shape Stickers

The service page remains the commercial owner. This guide should not become a second die-cut money page.

7. Do not assume the cutting method from the term

“Die-cut” and “custom-shape” are useful buyer-facing descriptions of the finished shape task, but they do not prove one specific machine, tool or cutting process is used for every job.

This guide therefore does not promise:

  • a particular cutting technology;
  • universal kiss-cut availability;
  • fixed precision/tolerance figures;
  • a universal minimum-detail limit;
  • compatibility with every material or finish.

If one of those production details matters, include it in the enquiry so it can be confirmed for the actual job.

What to prepare before requesting a quote

Send or note:

  • finished shape/reference;
  • finished dimensions;
  • quantity;
  • application/use;
  • artwork status;
  • material/finish if known;
  • number of versions if relevant;
  • target date;
  • UAE delivery location;
  • artwork/reference file where available.
