A transparent/clear sticker is usually being considered because the underlying surface is intended to remain part of the final appearance.
That may be relevant when you want:
- parts of a product/container to remain visible;
- printed graphics without an obviously opaque background area;
- the underlying surface colour or finish to remain visually present;
- a clear-material look as part of the design.
These are appearance goals, not guarantees about a particular stock or printing method.
2. When an opaque/standard sticker may be the simpler requirement
If the sticker itself should provide the full visible background for the artwork, the job may be better treated as a standard opaque sticker requirement rather than a transparent-material requirement.
A useful comparison therefore starts with:
- what should show through;
- what should be visually covered;
- where the sticker will be applied;
- how the artwork is expected to look on that actual surface.
Do not choose solely from a material name without considering the final visual result.
3. The application surface matters
Send a photo or describe the product, container or surface where the sticker will be applied.
Useful details include:
- surface colour;
- whether the surface is transparent, translucent or opaque;
- approximate application area;
- whether the sticker is viewed from one side or needs another specific presentation;
- indoor/outdoor or other relevant environment if it affects the requirement.

4. Artwork and transparency should be reviewed together
Provide the artwork if it exists, and explain the intended visible result.
