Four different outcomes that should not be mixed together
1. Evidence of opening or interference
The requirement may be to make it easier to notice that a package, closure, item or label has been opened, removed or disturbed.
That is a tamper-evidence question.
2. Deterrence
A visible seal or security label may be intended to discourage casual interference because disturbance could become noticeable.
That is not the same as guaranteeing that interference cannot occur.
3. Authentication
You may need users or staff to determine whether an item, package or label is genuine.
Authentication can involve requirements beyond ordinary print construction. Do not assume a holographic appearance, serial number or physical seal automatically proves authenticity.
4. Tracking or recording
You may need a system to record where an item is, who handled it, whether a reference has been used, or what happened after scanning.
That is a tracking/data-system requirement. A printed label can carry an identifier, QR code or barcode, but the physical print is not itself the database, scanner infrastructure or tracking platform.
Start with the object, closure and event
Describe:
- what is being labelled or sealed;
- the application surface;
- what action would count as tampering for your process;
- what a user should be able to notice afterwards;
- whether the label is replaced after opening or inspection;
- whether the item is simply identified or also linked to an external record/system.
The specification should follow the real risk/process rather than the word “tamper-proof.”
If visible tamper evidence is the requirement
Explain the physical outcome you need to verify.
For example, state whether you need visible evidence that a label or closure was disturbed. If a particular physical mechanism is mandatory, identify that mechanism as a requirement to confirm for the actual construction.
This guide does not claim that Dubai Sticker Printing universally provides VOID, destructible, frangible, residue-transfer or any other named tamper construction. Availability and performance must be confirmed before being promised.
If authentication is the requirement
Authentication is a separate decision.
If your process needs a unique identifier, verification database, secure code, controlled serialisation or another authentication method, state who provides and controls that system and what the physical label must carry.
For a broader conceptual comparison between holographic appearance, tamper evidence and authentication/security, see:

A holographic visual effect alone should not be described as proof of authenticity.
If QR codes or barcodes are involved
A physical label can include supplied/approved QR or barcode artwork where the print requirement is confirmed.
Keep separate:
- creation/approval of the underlying data;
- hosting or destination management;
- scanner or reader configuration;
- analytics/tracking;
- inventory/WMS/asset systems;
- the physical printing of the code.

What to include in the print brief
Send what you know:
- item/package/closure;
- application surface;
- required tamper-evidence outcome;
- quantity;
- size/shape;
- artwork status;
- fixed or variable identifiers;
- any QR/barcode supplied for printing;
- replacement/reissue process if relevant;
- target date;
- UAE delivery/project location;
- any externally mandated standard or requirement that must be met.
Unknown technical details can be marked not sure / needs verification.
External standards and rules stay external until verified
If a regulator, customer, insurer, marketplace, site or internal policy requires a specific security construction, test, certification, marking or process, bring the current requirement into the project brief.
A general printer article should not be treated as legal/security compliance advice.
Continue to the physical label requirement
Once the required outcome is clear, continue to Label & Product Label Printing to discuss the physical print specification and quote.
